Who can dive with KALYMNOS Diving Center

Everyone from 10 years to 70 years old, can participate to our dives and certification courses as soon as he/she is healthy!

Scuba diving for first time

You always wanted to try Scuba Diving?
Have you ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater?
Do you want to find out how it feels and see if you like it?
You aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course?

Then our PADI Discover Scuba Diving is what you need. It is an entry level and experience course designed for first time divers. It lasts at about 3 hours and it includes a pool session and a shore dive in the sea.

1. In the pool session you learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of our PADI Instructor. You will:
   • Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
   • Find out what it's like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
   • Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step
2. After the pool session and if you feel comfortable, you will have a shore dive in the sea under the direct supervision of our PADI Instructor
3. When you complete both sessions you will get a certificate that will give a discounted price on your next certification course if you take it within a year of your PADI Discover Scuba Diving.

After this and if you enjoyed your scuba diving experience you can:

• Participate in our shore and boat diving as many times as you want, always in a limited depth (up to 40 feet/ 12 meters) and under the direct supervision of our PADI Instructor.
• Plunge into a certification course.

Certification courses that you can get with us

We offer PADI training which fulfils the European Standards. The certifications that you get with us will allow you to dive anywhere in the world. When you get certified with us then you also become a member and get the benefits of our KDC members Club

If you are getting certified for first time we suggest:

• The PADI Scuba Diver course if you are short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver. This will allow you to dive up to up to 40 feet / 12 meters and under the direct supervision of an  Instructor.
• The PADI Open Water Diver course. This is where it all begins. You will learn something you'll enjoy for the rest of your life. This will allow you to dive up to 60 feet / 18 meters depth with with another minimum same level certified diver and it will also allow you to rent diving equipment. It is also a prerequisite for the next levels of certification.
  You can use  e-Learning to complete the theory part of the PADI Open Water Diver course.

If you are already an Open Water Diver, then you can:

• Get any of our specialty courses Adventure Diver, or  Digital Underwater Photographer, or Underwater Navigator or a Night Diver.
• Get the Advanced Open Water Diver course.
  You can use  e-Learning to complete the theory part of the Advanced Open Water Diver course

If you are already an Advanced Open Water Diver then you can become a Rescue Diver and then a  Divemaster - your first professional level!

Our Guided and Organized Diving

Our dives are always guided.
We do both shore and boat diving to the most exciting dive sites of Kalymnos island, always in small groups up to 6 divers.
And we never deny a dive even if it is only one diver!

We also offer Night dives and specialty dives.

For groups of divers, diving schools and diving clubs we offer organized diving. The support and equipment they need to dive by themselves with their own dive leaders. Contact for details.

Diving Equipment Rental

We offer Diving Equipment Rental and diving plans of our website to divers who like to dive independently.

Please Note: Rental equipment & diving plans, will be offered only to experienced divers diving with a buddy and having a minimum of  "EN 14153-2 Level 2 - Autonomous Diver" (Open Water Divers) certification, authored by a Diving Organization Registered in Greece.
